Harsh Advice for Poets (Core Course, lesson #01) - 1st September 2020, 7-9pm GMT
Does what it says on the tin, and pulls no punches. From the start we'll cut through the nonsense and confront common illusions, errors and bad habits, which hold us back. So be ready!
This is perfect class for anyone who wants to start taking writing poetry more seriously, and to start writing better poetry. It's also a great class for any poet who may feel stuck with their craft or who struggles to progress to a higher level.
What will happen in this class:
- A lecture giving essential advice for writing poetry, covering: what makes a poem good or bad; unhelpful ideas and attitudes that hold you back; good practice tips.
- A ‘diagnosis’ of common problems, which might you struggle with?
- Writing exercises tailored to your ‘diagnosis' to get you out of a rut.
When you register for an online class you will be added to the list of registrants. Classes take place live on Zoom; the day before your class you will be sent a link to your registered Zoom meeting, which you can follow to join the class. Remeber to check your Junk folder.
All Zoom sessions will be recorded. After a class or workshop, registrants will be emailed a link to the recording. If you are unable to attend a session for which you have registered, you will still be able to watch the recorded session at your convenience.
