When I sit down to write a poem, one of the first questions I ask myself (and this may surprise you) is: what type of statement will I use to express myself today?
 
We all struggle to express ourselves every now and then, with all the words in the world, how can we choose what to say? Thinking in terms of stement type is an excellent way to narrow it down and get back in control. Declaratives, interrogatives, imperatives, exclamatives - these are what communication (and poems) are made of. This lesson helps you to understand these core building blocks, what effects they have, and how you can use them to express your ideas most aptly.
