What is The Poetry Master Class?​

The Poetry Master Class is a collection of downloadable courses and lessons created by poet and teacher, Dr Cat Woodward. Learn to write poetry in your own time, develop and improve your poems, stay inspired and keep creating.

The Poetry Master Class includes a Core course, themed short courses and writing prompts (coming soon). New material is being added all the time. You can also register for one-to-one mentoring with Cat to receive personalised and specific writing guidance.
Who is The Poetry Master Class for?​​
There is something for everyone at The Poetry Master Class, whatever your writing level, whatever your needs.
The Core course is designed for poets who are just beginning their writing journey. Want to write poetry? This is the place to start. But, Core isn't useful just to beginners. Core is broken into individual downloadable lessons, so no matter what your level, if you have difficulty with a particular aspect of writing e.g. line breaks, rhythm, form, there will be something in Core to help you with your problem areas.
Short courses are about exploring particular themes and subjects through poetry. Want to try something new? Boost your creativity by learning a new approach or by engaging a new topic, and most importantly write! Accessible while still challenging, these courses are designed for writers of any level, from beginner poets to poetry veterans.

Prompts are for when you just want to put pen to paper and write now! Creative block? Stuck in a rut? Haven't written in a while? Use these prompts to do something different, surprise yourself, flex your creativity and of course, write poems!​

Mentoring is there for anyone who needs a more personal and tailored kind of teaching, and it's especially useful for poets who want to work closely on a particular project or set of their poems.
